Have A Heart

The Cochran-Bleckley United Givers Fund, Inc. is a local non-profit charity dedicated to improving the health and welfare of Bleckley County residents. We hold an annual fund-raising campaign (September through November) and distribute the funds that we raise to local charitable agencies twice a year (in January and July). Donations to United Givers stay in Bleckley County helping our children to reach their potential and to become productive citizens, providing support for citizens in need, supporting our senior citizens, and helping to enrich our lives and broaden our horizons.

The Cochran-Bleckley United Givers Fund is governed by a board comprised of community leaders from Bleckley County:

How It Began
In 2007, United Givers participated in both the Combined Federal Campaign and the Georgia State Charitable Contributions Program, allowing both Federal and State employees to donate to United Givers through payroll deduction. United Givers also applied for a grant from the Boeing Employees Community Fund on behalf of three of the charitable organizations that we support--the Cochran-Bleckley Fire Department, the Bleckley Senior Center, and Communities in Schools and Family Connection. The $2000 grant that we received was used to purchase:

A fire safety video titled “10 Tips for Fire Safety,”

Fire safety coloring books for school children,

A table-top fitness wheel for the seniors, and

Four basketball goals for the Communities in School’s Century Learning Program.

United Givers was accepted as a member of
Local Independent Charities
(LIC) in 2007. LIC is a federated fund-raising organization whose purpose is to get member agencies listed in as many workplace employee fund-raising campaigns as they qualify for and to help member agencies raise as much money as possible in those campaigns. Your donation helps your community today and tomorrow!
